The Talker

I picked the boys up from sports camp, where they had been busy playing games all day long. From the backseat I hear Mason telling Levi, "There are hundreds of ways to play four-square with a ball and four chalk squares"... and he begins explaining each one. About 10 minutes pass and Mason is on his fourth description of a four-square game and I hear Levi say "Mason, can't we just sit here? Aren't you bored of talking yet?" Later we ate at the Panda Express (one of our favorite spots) and Mason read his fortune cookie: Today your mouth is moving, but no one is listening.

Levi and Mason played in a baseball league for the first time this year. Like most pre-K players, Levi could often be found squatting and drawing in the dirt while playing 2nd base. The kids got several pitches to hit and if they missed those, they would bring out the tee to help them out. Levi hit off the tee more often than not...but near the end of the season he improved. One game he came running around the dugout yelling "I hit it without the tee!" After some pats on the back he says, "yeah, it was easy. I even kept my eyes open that time!"
